HOW DOES AT SHIP THEIR TRAILERS?
Starting out with a custom skid made form 2X6 and 2X4 we roll the trailer into place and block the tires in front, behind and on the outside. Next we hold down the tongue of the trailer using the safety chains, tensioning them with the tongue jack. For more click on the picture.
SPARE PARTS & PREVENTATIVE MAINTAINANCE FOR EXPEDITION TRAILER
If you talk to fellow travelers about the spares they carry for their vehicles you’ll end up with a whole spectrum of options and opinions. Some people carry axles and transfer cases, others alternators and water pumps, and the minimalists take a fan belt and duct tape. With so many moving parts in a vehicle it’s difficult to know how much is enough. All is dependent upon the condition & age of the vehicle, the quality of the modifications and of course, the conditions encountered.
Trailers on the other hand are relatively simple to plan for when it comes to repair, the moving parts are confined to the suspension and wheels. We have provided some guidelines for spare parts depending on the length of your journey and how remote from repair facilities you may be.

BEARING MAINTENANCE & SERVICE
Following on from the Spare Parts & Maintenance article, we have put together a general methodology for bearing maintenance and service. For Off Road Trailers the method of inspection, maintenance, and replacement is the same as for On Road trailers. The frequency or inspection for Off Road Trailers is usually more frequent and is dependent on the amount of usage the trailer gets and the severity of the conditions it is subjected to.
